Sabr

from £50.00

About - Sabr
Following the tragic March 2017 attack on Westminster Bridge in London, I painted this piece as an expression of faith and patience. The canvas is filled with a vibrant, textured skyline where traditional Islamic architecture, representing Islam, blends seamlessly with the iconic silhouette of Big Ben, representing the West. They exist together in harmony, sharing the same space and the same sky. Above the city, a brilliant burst of golden light breaks through the deep blue. It is a visual reminder of the Qur'anic promise that God is with the patient. As Muslims, we frequently face unjustified blame for acts of terror, yet Islam is fundamentally a religion of peace. This painting honours our resilience. It is a statement that we will stand firm in the face of unjust expectations, refusing to apologise for actions we condemn, and choosing instead to practise Sabr.
