The People Behind This

I could not have got here without two people.

My father is 89 years old. He has always been one of my biggest supporters. I have watched him, at exhibitions, at gatherings, whenever we have guests in our home, take people to my studio and show them my work with a smile on his face. I have relaunched this site to coincide with his birthday. May Allah give him a long and healthy life. Ameen.

And then there is my husband. His support has been constant. Physically, emotionally, practically, financially. He has supported every endeavour, whether sane or totally mad. He has been my rock in a way I cannot fully describe. I am not sure I would still be painting without him.

Although I have a dedicated studio in my home, I have always been someone who paints wherever life is happening. The lounge, the kitchen, the dining room. Not in office hours but while I am cooking, cleaning, colouring with my granddaughter. Sometimes I think I will just do a few strokes and before I know it we are having chargrilled chicken, and that is when my husband's trusted stack of takeaway leaflets comes out.

I built this site myself. My husband kept offering to find a developer. He also knows me stubborn, and I do not give up easily. There were many evenings I was so absorbed in the laptop that dinner did not happen. Let's just say the takeaway leaflets got a lot of use.
