giclée print
master framers
by Siddiqa Juma
The Craft
"The gilded lines go straight to the centre. Your eye has no choice but to follow."
I built this painting on a highly textured acrylic surface, using deep blues and warm, earthy reds. I constructed the repeating arch motifs layer by layer, building physical depth into the canvas to enhance the visual perspective. I then added precise, gilded lines radiating outward from the distant central arch. These straight, structural lines contrast with the organic texture of the paint, pulling your gaze down the illuminated path toward the centre.
The Arches
The arch forms are built up in thick, heavy layers, pressed and worked with a palette knife until the surface has real depth. The gold lines follow the curve of each arch, one by one, tracing the same shape over and over as it recedes into the distance.
The Corridor
The perspective pulls you in from the first moment. I worked the grid of gold and white lines outward from the vanishing point, each one radiating toward the edges. The dark opening at the far end is the still point everything else moves toward.
The Surface
Up close the ground is anything but flat. Blues, blacks, and golds are layered beneath the lines, built up in thick, expressive strokes before the geometric structure was laid over them. The texture is what gives the gold lines somewhere to land.
The Story
"Every arch pulls you deeper. You stop counting and just walk."
When I visited the Prophet's Mosque, walking through those sacred arches, I was struck by a profound sense of peace. There is something hypnotic about the repeating architecture, the way the arches seem to go on forever, drawing you closer to the Prophet's resting place. I wanted to capture that feeling of infinite depth and spiritual focus.

Your print is made to last. A few things worth knowing:
Keep it out of direct sunlight where possible. Archival paper holds its colour well, but prolonged UV exposure will fade any print over time.
Avoid hanging in humid rooms such as bathrooms or kitchens. Moisture is the main enemy of fine art paper.
If your print arrives rolled, lay it flat under a few books for 24 hours before framing. It will settle naturally.
For cleaning, a soft dry cloth on the glass is all you need. Never spray directly onto the print.
