For Rabi ul Awwal, I have chosen three prints that feel especially close to this time of year: Darwaza, Arches of Revelation and Arches of Serenity.

Rabi ul Awwal

Arches of Revelation
from £45.00

About Arches of Revelation

This abstract painting is inspired by the sacred arches of the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah. Repeating motifs draw you inward through the layers of the canvas, your gaze pulled down the long, illuminated path towards a distant central arch. It represents the journey to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), leading to a place of true tranquillity. This piece will be exhibited at Escher in the Palace in The Hague from 10th June to 2nd November.

Arches of Serenity
from £45.00

About Arches of Serenity

Inspired by the arches of the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah, this painting captures the iconic black and white stone arches resting upon graceful white marble columns. Al-Masjid an-Nabawi stands as one of the most magnificent symbols of Islamic heritage, and this piece invites contemplation of its splendour and the profound spiritual significance it holds for millions around the world

Darwaza
from £50.00

About Darwaza

On the door of the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah there is a golden emblem. Circular, raised, covered in calligraphy and arabesque. I felt the ridges beneath my fingers and ran my hands across it, trying to understand how something so intricate could feel so solid.

Darwaza means door. In Arabic. In Urdu. In the way you stand before something and know you are not the same person who will walk away from it.

The work behind the work

Every painting begins with a question.

A feeling, a verse, a memory or a moment of stillness. Guided by the Qur’an and Islamic tradition, my paintings are shaped by faith, pilgrimage and the things that stay with us.

What 25 Years of Practice Looks Like

People often ask how long a painting takes. The answer is usually a few days, but that does not really tell the whole story.
